The Palomino Stables

Palomino Riding School has been operating for over 50 years offering trail rides, holiday programs and lessons for beginners to advanced riders. Stabling for privately owned horses is available at the school. The school is situated in Sydneys northern beaches and backs onto the garigal National Park (where many of the trail rides are conducted).

Palomino has 2 dressage arena's, a round yard and showjumps to cater for all requirements and levels of riding. We are open 7 days a week and bookings are required.

What's Up Lately

Trail Rides

Our trail rides are for 1 to 2 hours through Garigal National park. The 1 hour trail is recommended for beginners while the 2 hour trail is for experienced riders only as the horses need to trot and canter to do the full loop.

All groups are kept to small numbers to ensure the safety and enjoyment for all riders. In addition Palomino can cater to specific requests including events and parties.

Note: Trail rides are restricted to children aged 12 years or older (unless approved by their riding coach).

Lessons - Learning to ride

All our students are taught in private lessons to begin with. This establishes an independent seat in rising trot, sitting trot and canter. Once the student is confident then they are invited to join a group lesson or semi-private lesson of their level.

Birthday Parties

We offer 3 types of parties and can also forfill special requests. All parties have full use of the Bunk House - a fully self contained bunk house, stove, oven, gas BBQ in an undercover area for your party.

• Party 1. Pony Party (for children 4-7 years, max. 12 riders).
  Ponies are provided for 1 hour - you must supply 2 adults to lead the children around the riding school.
• Party 2. Lesson Party (8 years or older, max. 6 riders).
  The lesson party gives the riders a half hour group lesson during which the riding coach takes the riders through the basics of riding. Lots of fun! This takes approximately 45 minutes and includes mounting and helmet fitting.
• Party 3. Trail Ride Party (12 years or older, max. 6 riders).
  Spend an hour riding through the Garigal National Park with friends before heading back to use the BBQ facilities at the bunk house.
